Hey guys

I am curious what the cost for a complete paint job would be? My truck came with a few tiny scratches here and there on the beds fenders. I've noticed some more on the right rear side... looks like it might buff out but I'm just curious what a full paint job would be? I've considered going from my black metallic to maybe the hemi green or orange they have on some of the new trucks.

Anyone done a complete job yet and can toss me a figure? I've also thought about doing a complete plastidip with the spray gun kits. Think they run around $300-500 but I haven't looked in a really long time. I just don't like the matte finish would want it to be bright and shiny.

Thoughts? Pics?

I've seen trucks done entirely in Line X. I thought it looked really good!

A complete paint job without doing door jams starts at 4000. That's with out doing a color change.

Other options you have is "vinyl wrapping" your truck

I would try a full paint correction first unless you really want to change colors.

but being serious, take it to a high quality detailing shop, it will cost you around $500+ for a full blown detail but if they polish it right, i can bet you would be happy with the outcome, and $500 +/- is much cheaper than around a $4k same color respray...

Plastidip that is under 1k is going to be a matte finish and honestly they dont look that great after a year or so, they start showing age and wear and tear, especially colors other than black and if they dont put the UV blocker on it, i did the bumper cap on my 3/4 ton a tad over a year ago and i removed it a few weeks back and it looked rough, what little satin finish it has when sprayed will fade to straight dull, thats with it not being abused, i meticulously detail and maintain my trucks weekly

You would be amazed at what can be removed from paint, i have my own detailing business and i was shocked on my projectr truck at these scratches i removed, they went from the hood, across the fender and down the door

I'd look into the vinyl wrap also. You could probably get a good custom color/design for (just guessing here)... $1500 - $2000... maybe a little more? You can get really creative with the vinyl wraps. Then, it's also easier to change it after a while.

Now, the downside, if you're hard on a truck (off-roading and such), vinyl won't be the way to go.
