I mean technically you're driving around in the Mopar junk you bought from the stealership. Lmao [emoji23][emoji23]. Sorry had to, you set yourself up on that one lol.

I will be upgrading everything, but unfortunately I'm on vacation and had to settle for a reman autozoo part. Mine have 110,000mi/177,000km on them and still on factory pads with about half the pad left

Yeah and If I would've knowed about how fragile these trucks were, I would of gotten something else. Heck Ive never spent so much money on maintenance on a vehicle in my life.

Live and learn I guess, Now I just replace the crap that breaks with aftermarket :)

I love mine, this is the first part I had to change since the end of 2011 and 110,000 miles so I'm not go to complain over a 60 dollar caliper.

It was broken before I pulled it off. You can see the rust on it. The reason I pull the caliper is due to the brakes sticking on the right rear.

I worked on F250+ fords and saw that all the time on caliper pistons. Brittle as hell, gotta be careful when pressing the pistons back in.

Just throwing it out there..looks to me that the piston is the phenolic material and not metal. Perhaps the edge of the piston broke off when it was forced past the lip on the outside radius of the rotor during removal.

I have an older Ram and many more miles than most and no issues with my brakes in fact the original pads lasted until around 93,000 which is pretty damn good when towing and stuff. I know you like to talk **** about Ram but you make no sense. They are tough but do require some things now and then.

There is no real upgrade I have found except for expensive bear or SSBC kits.... I had 2 do this to me on mine 2011, one on the factory set the other on a Powerstop set. The powerstop calipers are just remanufactured oem units they get from you on a core charge, and the hassle I had with them I will never buy another one of their products....

Phelonic pistons are brittle. You have to be careful when pushing them back in. I ALways use a large C clamp or I push on the pad. But it can also happen during normal use or if you have a warped rotor/brake chatter. The pheloic material is cheaper and weaker than SS but it doesnt transfer as much heat which is its only positive. Seen this happen on alot of different calipers over the years. Normally as long as its not a full crack all the way though I would leave it alone. But stepping up to a SS piston caliper and you won't have the issues anymore.
