So from what I understand the 35w HiD kits don't pull enough power causing the flicker in the headlights. Will the 55w kits work fine then without the resistor harnesses?

It's not the power that's the problem. The rams run off a canbus system. Not having canbus ballast will cause all sorts of problems like warning lights flickering not firing.

Not sure where you heard that. Lots of guys are running 35w kits without any problems. Me included.

Your choice of a kit is your issue. Try to send them back and get a name brand kit. I highly recommend morimoto. Although they're expensive when it comes to hids you can spare no expense. You definitely get what you pay for.

Go with opt-7 brand led! Those hids don't work well with our trucks

No led technology is not quite there yet and are better suited for cars with light housings specifically designed for led. Although led lights might appear brighter, they in reality have less usable light. Although hid is more expensive they still have more usable light in a projector housing with trucks like mine who have them

So for mine, dual headlights, what is good? Should I just stay with halogens?

I can't say for dual halogens leds might actually be better in that case. But you will have to really do your research and find an led that best matches halogen light distribution

I can tell you from experience with my 2015 ram . Opt-7 led flux beam headlights . They don't flicker , they are reliable, and much brighter than the stock garbage lol I use opt 7 led for my fogs too ! Good luck! No luck for me with hids . Been there done that. Nothing but problems and ultimately a waste of money

If you need anything HID, hit me up.

We've been selling Ram HID kits for 7 years now, and have worked with our suppliers to get the best goodies for the Ram platform (we sell Morimoto HIDs)

I have the 55w morimoto hid kit from retroshop and yes, pricy, but it has worked great.

Our 12's aren't nearly as problematic with Hids as the 15+ are.

I ended up ordering the morimotos thru Jeremy thanks for all of the input. Another question though does anyone by chance know if the newer cherokees 2014, have the same flicker issue or just the rams?

The new cherokees are worse then the rams, morimoto gave up on trying to get something to work. I know xenon depot makes a kit that works in it and I just ordered a kit for my wifes cherokee from the auto led group, they also have a kit that works that doesnt require an extra harness.

Checkout www.headlightrevolution.com they have both led and hid kits tested and proven to work with the newer trucks. Just ordered the led kits for my quads and fogs

Do you have a link for the ones you ordered for your wife's Cherokee?
