I can't decide on which tire.

275/65/20. Has a load rating of e. But tire is 17 pounds heavier then

275/60/20 . Load rating of sl

So I no I will loose power with the E tire. But I can tow heavier? And have less chance of a puncture on trails with the heavier load rating?

I tow from time to time. Boat/ car on a trailer.

What do you guys think?

If not a 3/4 ton I would stay away from the E rated for ride comfort.

When I change my tires out Iam going to 10ply tires so I dont have to worry about tires, but I am also getting TTC Springs that are rated 50% stronger.
I came out of a 3/4 ton and wont mind my truck riding like a truck again..

yes E is 10ply, D is 8 ply and I think C is 6ply.

Like he said you will feel the difference in the 10ply over the cheap stock tires if you still are running them.

I have the Duratracs in the passenger size and I believe I remember reading that even though they aren't a 10 ply tire, they are fairly puncture resistant. They have some sort of reinforcement or something, especially in the tread. The load rating is typical to any passenger rated A/T so you won't see much improvement there in that size, but they should be fairly durable.

I tow a 9000 pound enclosed once a year. Car on trailer few times a year and light boat a lot

I do a lot of trail and snow driving when hunting. Some rocky uphill stick trails.

What rating would you tell me to get if I said I was going right now

Myself I would not go any lower then a D rated tire on a truck, but I will be doing a E rated tire.

I would definitely go with a D or E rated tire then. My truck rarely leaves the pavement. If you don't want to go up a size and want something a tiny bit lighter, go with the BFG A/T KO2. You can get it in stock size but it's an LT E rated tire. That should keep the ride a little smoother than going with the 34" Duratracs but give you the same benefits.

I am just afraid of the power loss I'll see putting the e tire on.

I like that get up and go power the Hemi has

You should be OK with the BFG in 275/60r20. Not too heavy for the Hemi.

I almost went with Falken Wildpeak AT3W in the 34" but it was 66 lbs per tire and I only have 3:21 gears. If they were more like 54.5 lbs like the BFGs I would have been all over them.

And worse case scenario use it as an excuse for a hemifever custom tune and you'll have no issue with the feeling of power loss haha

Yea but you don't have the extra height which also saps you of a little bit of power.

Great I am undecided
Lol I had 4 different sets of tires in my Amazon cart for a month before I finally pulled the trigger, and I'm still second guessing myself!

I've 2 sets of Duratracs for my truck. A set of 305/55/20 E rated with Fuel wheels for summer and a set of 275/60/20 SL rated for winter Both ride great IMO. I thought for sure my 305's would ride a lot harder but surprisingly they don't.

I prefer E rated tires because I feel they're more durable and less likely to get flats. I've been on the side of the road once in 20yrs of driving. I do not even own a trailer or haul heavy crap in the bed of the truck very often.
I had the Hankook AT/M on my 1500 Silverado. And I now have Nitto G2 285/75/17 tires on my Ram 1500. I switched from stock P rated tires a little over a year ago to the G2. I was paying a lot of attention to tire weights when choosing a new tire because I also wanted a slightly taller tire.
I loss of power is very minimal. My MPG did go down slightly too, like 1mpg less. But those also can be contributed to me switching from a 20" wheel to a 17" I also feel like my ride is better with the E rated tires, and I'm currently running my psi at a unusual psi amount too.
If you are not sure you need it, but you do some towing or hauling, go with the higher rated tire. Because whenever you're towing or hauling you'll be happy with your decision. You might feel a tiny loss in performance, but you'll get peace of mind.
