I really like the look of fender flares, but don't really want to lift my truck at this time. Has anyone put the Bushwacker pocket flares with stock tires? Or do I have options to put on different rims that will allow the tire to stick out a little more without lifting? Not sure if it would look weird without having the tires stick out more. Ideally I'd like to do something similar to this, without the lift:

No opinions on this? After poking around on here for awhile last night, it looks like I could maybe get some different rims with offset and get them to stick out more? Would it still look dumb without a lift?

That's a great question and one that I needed to see for myself. I took a ride over to a shop that had pocket flares in stock. They placed one against my truck which only has Bilstein shocks set at 2.1. In my opinion it definitely needs to have wider tires/wheels. :(

Imo they will not look good with stock wheels. You could get a 20x9 wheel with -12 mm offset with 33" tires to push the wheels out and they should not rub

I'm running the stock 20x9 wheels with 2756520 tires that measure 34.3 inches. I'm only leveled up front, no lift......yet. lol

I installed 1.5" hub centric wheel spacers to get the tires out a bit more.

This pic is with the spacers installed?

I didn't realize those flares stuck out so far.
Yep!! ha ha

They add 2.6" of additional coverage up front and 2" additional for the rear. Good to know for anyone evaluating.

I can't ask for much out of the stock offset and didn't want to go with wider spacers. May change the wheels eventually but no plans right now.

Sure, if you can ignore the tow mirrors deployed....I just installed the mirrors the day I took these, they don't stay this way unless needed.

I'm happy with this setup though I'm considering a 1.5" body lift.

Nice! I have a rambox too so it's nice to see how it looks with the flares. What type of tonneau are you using?

I have a the BakFlip F1. It came with the truck as I purchased used. That was it though, I've done everything else myself over the last 3 months. Put a bedrug under it too. I will say the F1 is decent but it's effing heavy flipping the third section up from the side of the bed....my only gripe I guess. :)

Love the rambox storage.....One side has ratchet straps, tow straps, full floor jack and jack stands. The other side has two camping chairs and lots of small odds and ends.

Here are some pics of fender flares without a lift. Only a level and 35's. I do have 18x9 wheels with -12 offset which makes them stick out more than stock but I think they need out a bit more to look good. Waiting for my lift and it'll be perfect. Hope it helps

Those are the N-fab bars you have on the truck?

Just so as to not get away from the original topic I am looking into the fender flares as well and didnt realize they stuck out so far. I wonder if the stock fender flares off a 2500 stick out that far?

They look pretty good. You running an offset different than stock? Or bigger tires?
