Factory Molded Front Mud Flaps - Swapping Running board sides works!
I picked up the factory molded mud flaps from the dealer (marked with Ram) but as many have found out the front flaps hit the running boards (depending on which factory boards you have). See the clearance pictures here:
As you can see they are RIGHT up against the wheel well and the factory molded flaps come way back to use a bolt hole underneath.
I found some posts on here indicating that if you simply swap sides (move driver running board to passenger side and vice versa) that it gives you lots of clearance. So today I Finally did the deed.
It’s only four little bolts holding each side on (you don’t remove the brackets, just the running board itself) so with a 8mm socket on a ratchet your in business.
Once they are swapped there was tons of room and the factory front mud flaps bolt right on with no issue, still have room to spare.
Since I hadn’t seen anyone write it up yet, maybe this thread will help.
