Getting rid of the chrome

So i bought a bighorn last year, and have never been a fan of the chrome. We almost traded it in for a sport, but couldn’t bring myself to trade in a paid off truck. So i did a little wrappin, dipping and painting. Bumpers are wrapped, grill has been painted (actually got a new shell of JC Whitney for 50 bucks) and the emblems are dipped. Still need to do the side badges and handles, but thought i would share some pics.

It’s like that age old adage lol, it’s cheaper to keep her. I’m a firm believer in rather then trading and losing money, just change the things that you are not feeling. Or add the extras that you want after NO payments are due. OP I also have a BigHorn and no the chrome doesn’t bother me, but I love what you’ve done with yours . :)

I guess I’m part of a dying breed, or maybe it’s just because I’m a truckdriver is why but I love that chrome...lol. But to each is own..[emoji846]

I like a Sport model with the standard grill. The black grill looks like a cheap piece of plastic that belongs on a base model truck.

I did, here is a pic. I got my money back because it had HORRIBLE swirl marks on it. It was “too” aftermarket for me.

I’d really like to get the Tungsten Edition Limited when I get my new truck but I’m just not a fan of the painted bumpers. Too much chipping from rocks. My 2008 Laramie now has that “modified” Sport bumper on the front of it and I hate it. lol. The paint’s peeling in a few places and it’s got rock chips galore on it. At one point I really considered yankin’ that painted plastic POS off of there and buying the parts to make the regular SLT bumper with the chrome and putting it on there.
