Crashed my truck into an unlicensed driver he stopped in a yield when he didn't have to and looked like he was going to go and as I was turning over to see if I had no traffic to my left I hit hit thinking he had gone and not stopped 4fd65f5fff30b1d36cd780a89a98411a.jpg1821aef33b621afeab196e32a3f0deff.jpg714848dbe3387da218bf96020d13de7c.jpg16463f66a6e33cebe897d88074103327.jpgf7dafe6cf754487cc9cc5521968a0cd4.jpg5939657054879ea8b944d7272c1f59e3.jpg21efab2888b5c7a8ea3a10dc0993d041.jpg

Hope you're ok. That sucks! Not sure how the law works in that situation but I hope the unlicensed guy is at fault because he shouldn't have been driving unlicensed in the first place. Knowing our system you'll be found at fault though. Heard a case where an illegal was injured in a car accident (New York I believe) and won a huge amount. He should've been deported without a dime for breaking the law in the first place. Good luck man

Unlicensed and suspended license drivers are a big problem in southeast Michigan (likely an issue in every city across the country). Add to that they have no insurance plus the number of licensed drivers without insurance. They don't seem to get into a lot of trouble with the law once caught despite the law being strict. Prosecutors are over-loaded and defense attorneys bargain down the charges and the drivers are back driving later in the day.

Looks like you hit the Tahoe going pretty fast. Wow!

Ya, in NYastan your at fault. Your supposed to have control of your vehicle at all times. Rear-ending someone is automatically on you.

As far as ins goes we're a "no fault" state. Lol, but your ins is paying for his car. I agree though, no license, no pay.

That sucks! I know the feeling, I did the exact same thing in 2005. Guy in front of me stopped for traffic, when we got an opening, I saw him go. I looked to the left, saw an opening, and punched it. When I turned back around, he had stopped right in front of me. I always check now, to make sure the car in front of me has cleared out.

Unfortunately, since it was a rearender, you will most likely be at fault. Hope it all works out for you, accidents suck.

I know it's hard to do but there is a reason it says 10mh at yield signs . Just glad you are ok and no one was injured.

I despise hesitant drivers! They are a real menace here in Ottawa. Rush hours are a disaster as most drivers can't merge into traffic. You don't deserve to be charged but... good luck!

Glad you're OK. Regarding the hit, you'll probably be at fault despite the other driver's lack of skills.......or license. Let's hope they get your truck fixed fast (and right) so you can be back on the road again.

Thanks guys! I'm ok [emoji108] but ya I smacked him pretty damn good . At first I was thinking man I messed up but the more I thought about it the more I started to think he def shouldn't have done that lol. But oh well I have full coverage so my insurance is paying for my damage. Just gotta pay the deductible. Luckily no one was hurt. My brother in laws shop will most likely be doing the repair and I'll see if they can't put a hd front end or sport something cool lol get my 500$ worth of something!

Wow I hope nobody got hurt. That sucks big time what scares the hell out of me is all the people I see on their phone not paying attention to traffic especially out here in the suburbs and Dublin OH I just know one of these days someone's going to be on their phone and see something on their phone and stop really fast and I am going to rear-end them

I did something similar with a 2001 Ram once, many years ago. Sorry to hear about your case, but yeah, you probably will be found "at fault." Hopefully the cop writes him/her a ticket or court appearance for the no license. As others said, unfortunately they are not anywhere near as strict on that stuff as they should be, in most states. Too much of the "poor unfortunate poor people" attitude going around. Yes, there are a lot of those people that we should feel pity for and cut breaks for. But there are also a lot of lazy idiots whom know that attitude is out there, and think they deserve it.

It's hard to hit something that's not supposed to be there...

Hope it works out for you!

^ agree with Farmer Fran. If the unlicensed driver was not there like their not supposed to be you would never have hit them. But our crazy system will blame you most likely.

"at fault" only applies to medical and NOT property damage. Not sure if you knew that, but a lot of people get that confused.
