Got into an accident today

Who got found at fault? Did you have a dashcam? Guy stopped at a crossroad once, no stop sign, I was found at fault, petitioned the court , showed my dashcam footage, insurance company said i love you, and report was changed to show the other driver at fault. hope you had a cam, best 200 bucks you'll ever spend.

I had a recent fender bender myself in my 2012 Laramie. First accident I've been in since the 1990's where I was at fault. Came to find out the area on the bay bridge where I rear ended someone is known as accident alley as this exact issue happens every week on this bridge because of heavy traffic and a curve in the bridge that results in people coming to a screeching halt shortly before the curve for some reason. That info came straight from the bay authority cop that I spoke with. Fortunately I got no ticket since damage was light and no one was hurt.

According to the cop, if everyone can drive the vehicles away freely from an accident, and no one is injured, it's termed light damage. All three vehicles involved were able to drive away without issue. The damage all told for my repair was about 5500 parts, labor and paint. I agree it's not a simple bumper scuff, but I drove the rest of the way home, about a 90 minute drive, without issue. Just glad no one was hurt! [emoji4]

Agree on the no one hurt...but man...that's a heck of a way to define 'light'.

Last time I had an accident, they said if the damage was less than $1000 & no one was hurt, it was considered minor.


I mean I rolled a 1984 toyota 4x4 way back in '86, and I could have driven that home, and no one was hurt.....but it sure wasn't light damage....LOL.

Incorrect. If your deemed at fault, your on the hook for medical and repairing the other vehicle. It's not just BI

Glad everyone was okay. I did that once when I was 16 right after I got my license except for it wasn't any damage and I did it to a cop car LOL

I recommend dash cams. This happened the other day. Fortunately there was no damage. The guy who pulled out in front of me insisted on calling the cops. The cop told the guy that if it was damaged he could have cited him for failure to yield.

The video doesn't show but I have a 7500 pound trailer attached. The speed limit through this intersection is 55 miles an hour, and I was doing about 50. No more than thirty minutes ago, I just had the new tires put on the trailer and they locked up when I went over the rough part of the intersection and I barely booped him.

That's a good move in today's driving environment. For Christmas Santa brought me two: one for my Mini Cooper and one for my Ram.

Took this snapshot from my camera this morning, pretty happy with this thing so far, pretty much lets you see through the camera at night like you do with your eyes

You rear ended someone. If you were not paying enough attention (sounds like you weren't), it's your fault. It doesn't matter if he was unlicensed, drunk, or it was Osama bin laden behind the wheel. Separate issue and unrelated to the determination of fault. Glad you are ok. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and be happy that nobody got hurt.

I'm glad you are ok....Red light runner totaled my 2004 GMC 2 months ago.......I'm now waiting on a 2017 2500 Laramie CCLB 4x4......im trying real hard to turn it into lemonade....hopefully you can too.
