Made some time to dip the old goat heads. This stuff is great. I taped edges and had some cardboard around it too but still managed to overspray a bit due to some wind. Wipes right of w microfiber rag and some 91% alcohol.

LED lo beam kit got here. hoping to install soon and canbus system doesn't bust my balls.

Side note: have not fixed my mower yet

What kind of Plasti dip did you use?

I just stripped the plasti dip off of the front and rear badges yesterday. It sucked big time, likely my fault for not spraying it thick enough. I painted them this time but they didn't turn out too great so I'll probably buy a black set.

Yours look good though!

Thnx bud. Just try it again! Nice thing about dip you can tear off and redo as many times as you want lol. I assume they're pricey at the dealer. I thought about doing side emblems but I'm gonna get the 3m Eraser wheel and remove them all together. That thing takes off left over adhesive like magic. I really would like to dip my handles and antenna base soon. That black plastic always fades and looks terrible. Thinking of doing exhaust tips too but i need to research again how that holds up. Dyc on youtube has a lot of dip info

Nice! How much you pay for that tailgate? I got mine for $400 already painted pw7 and rhino liner inside but had to drive 1.5 hrs to get it. I put slow open hinge on it. Well worth the $25

I actually used the rostoleum branded one. Came out 8/10. The trick is several thin coats.

Tried the rustoleum brand on my wife's 18" Dart wheels...the stuff is NOT plastidip that's for sure. Couldn't take the heat from the front brakes. Plastidipped them previous 2 springs and they held up great. Dipped the exhaust tips right after we got the car in 2014...still look awesome. NOT a fan of rustoleum "dip"

Good to know. I have some actual plastidip left in garage from a little while back should be enough for the exhaust tips hopefully.

Paid 599 shipped for mine, bought it from one of the OEM dudes on Ebay. Called a few local dealerships by me and each one was over 600$,they weren't painted and also was on backorder. I ordered this one and a week later fedex delivered it to me.

Looks good. When I first did mine I found you couldn't wrap the chrome on the 5.7 Liter badge. Was ok with it for awhile, but it eventually drove me nuts since it was the only chrome left. When you get there, order some black ones and just spray the top half again. The black is not quite the same, but from a slight distance you can't even tell.

Just tape off a couple inches around the badge and cover a few feet around with plastic so you don't have to scrub off overspray. Once you have it all painted the dip will pull right off the paint and will separate at the badges. You just don't want to spray to thin, otherwise it will be a pain to get off. As for the 1500, 4x4 and hemi badge, have a toothpick handy to carefully separate from the paint between the small crevices in the lettering.

I used plastidip for the stripes on my hood almost a year ago, and they still look good.
Over the weekend, I noticed how bad the antenna bezel was faded, so I sprayed it as well. 6007d5f17489b8fde7c86b35d0fef698.jpg

I just bought this 2015 Lonestar a month ago and already planning a lot of mods.

I have the metallic grey paint and I dont like chrome.
The flat black against the metallic grey really looks good
Id never used plastidip until reading this forum and seeing how easy it was,
decided to give it a try this weekend.
I spent 2-3 hours washing and making sure the wheels were as clean as could be.
I did notice 2 wheels had some spikes in the chrome from the backside. it possibly looks like the center emblem retaining clips pushed too far forward.
Any how, Im really pleased with the outcome and the look.
Now to do the step rails and door handles!!
