Don't have any experience with the pods, however, why not just retro in a projector and hid lighting? With how much of a pita it is to bake headlights and such, if an led goes out, that's a hella lot of work to replace a pod..
I would assume with the correct resistors and capacitors in there, shouldn't cause an issue. I would hit up JJ at retro shop, as he would probably know 100% what you will need.

The edge LED strip is a no go so far for the duals. If you like the square look of the LED's I do have the Square projectors that Mirimoto make that are mounted but I haven't gotten around to sealing the headlight yet. They fill our duals out nicely.

I want to do this as well, how often do these led pods go out?
I have a set pulled apart and waiting for my factor paint to come in. I wanted to do the projectors on top but i dont want to do hids, is there any way to put a projector len in the top without a hid kit?
