i think before any suggestion is made, what exactly are you looking for? projectors, halos, or just a black headlight?

well the black look is fairly easy honestly with many choices of black lights, but whiter light, that will mean an HID upgrade, some like LEDs but that will depend on what kind of headlight you get, if you get a projector headlight get HIDs, if you get a normal headlight you can use LED or HID

Well here are two different ebay lights, bot were under $200 easily, hids could be added to these and have some good output, with hids and the lights you should probably anticipate spending about $400, but that also depends on which lights you pick

I know you said you dont want to spend an arm and a leg but oem projectors are some of the best looking lights for these trucks.

They come in chrome and black but you are looking at around $500+ a pair for used oem ones, thats about what i paid for each of my sets, aftermarket sets are about $400-$500 a set for bran new, slightly different quality but still a nice set of lights

I like that look but that is very pricey and don't know if the stock projectors or aftermarket for that matter plug straigt into my quad light setup

they are not straight plug and play, you have to buy the conversion harness as well which is another expense, lol

but what are you prefering, projector or just regular lights?

Another option would be to go with the ebay/amazon black headlight housing and then upgrade to a nicer aftermarket conventional bulb (Sylvania?) Won't be as expensive. You will probably go through more bulbs, but it is an option and lets you see a difference and determine if LED or HID are worth it.

i was kinda hinting at that if the OP is on a budget, if he is into projectors the ones ive been testing on my truck have been pretty decent even with the halogen bulbs they come with out of the box and they adjust like oem lights so no real chance of install or adjustment error...

and output for a basic ebay light isnt bad either for what it is

those pix were right before i got my wheels put on, the lights are damn near blacked out other than the amber so on my truck it really completed the look

I'd like projector or led but i don't want a cheap knock off headlight that will have tons of condensation

if you dont care about projectors id just get the quads with clear corners, im not sure of the brand of the ones i have, i just picked em off ebay (i get bored and randomly buy headlights and tail lights on ebay just to try em out lol) but there is only one brand of these and if you look for em on there you will find em for sure
