Default Heavy Tailgate

I saw a vid from Dodge back in 08-09 that stated that the 4gs came with the torsion bar in the tailgate. Thus making it much lighter. I installed the Hoppy EasyLift on my '02, and boy did it make a difference. My main concern is my 6 year old trying to close the tailgate or open it when no ones looking.

So what gives, did we get something similar from the factory and the tailgate still weighs a ton. Or did they "x" them out at the last minute>

i don't know about it having a torsion bar, but to me the tailgate on mine is a lot lighter than it was on my 05

I have the Easy Up on mine and the Easy Down.Makes it SEEM much lighter.

This tailgate is lighter than the 06 sierra my dad drives. That thing falls down like a ton of bricks.

i took an old hood spring and put it on the hinge of my tailgate and now is as light as an orange lol my 6 yr old neice has no throble closing it with one hand lol
