I have stock fender flairs, Mopar side steps, and mud flaps on my rebel. Since it is a 1500, the oem side tubes should work on your truck. There are guys upgrading to 2500 fender flares, and the side steps still work good.

heavy duty ram mudflaps, cleaning behind them. new mod.

how happy are people with the heavy duty ram mudflaps? Like so many others I have wheel to wheel steps and added facorty fender flares, so it did not leave me with too many options when it came to mud guards.

My question is how well do these protect the rocker panels from getting stuff inside the rocker panels themselves. I'm very afraid of having them rust out. I already added fluid film into the rocker panels. It just seems that with the mopar heavy duty mud guards, road grime could get behind them and work its way into the rocker panels and cause them to rust.

Would my best bet be to just to pull the mudfalps off periodically and clean behind them?

Can you pull the lower corner of the plastic fender liner out with factory flares and clean behind them?

thanks

Dude, please don't take this wrong but you are WAY too worried about rotting out. Relax! Enjoy your truck and stop worrying about it.
