I have a 2010 2500 and pull a 5th wheel. I am looking at buying a 2016 2500 but it sits three inches higher than my 2010. The Ram dealer is telling me that my 2010 has leaf springs which it does but he claims that the new style suspension on the 2016 will sit down more so the difference would be small. I am wondering if he is filling me full of bs to sell a vehicle or if this would be true. BTW the 2016 does not have air suspension.

If it’s a ‘16 2500 it’s rear is sitting on coil springs, not leaf springs...sounds like he doesn’t know what he’s selling!

No I think what the dealer is saying is the coils will dip on the 2016 more than the leaf springs on his 2010. Whether that's true or not is a totally different topic.

Nowhere in the OP did he say the dealer says 2016's have leaf springs.
I can say, I went from a 2010 to a 2017, and the height was 2" taller, and the 2017 squats 1/2" more

I just traded a 2016 Ram 2500 4x4 for a 2017 Ram 1500 because we decided to quit towing our 5th wheel....getting too damm old.

Do NOT believe the salesman...he's lying. When I put my 5th wheel on the new Ram 2500, it actually sat 7+ inches nose high!!! It did not settle and caused the 5th wheel to wag some. I lowered the hitch and raised the pin box and still had 7+ inches nose high!!

I don't know why they make them so tall, but the dealers all tell the same lies....
