Whelp, did my second mod to the Ram tonight. One of my co-workers has fogs behind his 3rd gen Ram grill, so I thought I'd see what they had at the local autozone. Found a Hella 500 kit and figured I'd give it a try. I'd say it took me about a hour in all, I was a little nervous about taking the grill off. I just tapped into the stock fogs for a signal.

There are two openings on top of the brace that the horns are mounted to. I just drilled through the bottom of those openings. I used the hardware included with the Hella kit.

I'd love to see some night time shots of how they look on the road.

I like it! I want to augment my high beams as well. I was driving back from Denver last night, needless to say, I was unimpressed!

Nice location. How the light output? They look like nearly a 1/3 is covered by the cross piece.

I looked at putting some behind my grill but when i had my 06, i tested light output from through the grill and without the grille in front and there is a noticable difference. The light diffusion going through the slats kills it, that's why I decided to go out front with mine, then I decided to go big with 700's. It's incredible how much more light these put out.

I had a set of aircraft landing lights behind the grill on my '99. The grill did indeed defuse / ruin a lot of the light.

I am thinking something along the line of Rigid Industries LED light bars.
Maybe put a 36" in the bumper opening..?

Wow, I'm suprised the landing lights didn't melt your grill. The lights on my jet get so hot I've seen them bubble the lense in front of them.

I will try and get a night shot, they are tied to my fogs so I'm not really looking for something to augment my highs. They pretty much shine between where the fogs end, and the headlights start.
