2011 dodge ram 1500.

I keep in flawless condition.
Paint is perfect untill yesterdy

I noticed after i washed a cluster of 4 pea size and pin head size bumps in paint right below anttena mount on pass fender

First though was rust but when i look from behind fender the area looks clean. There is some sort of strip of material covering it.

Its like a strip of comosite material

Im wondering if this strip is locking in moisture behind it

Not sure what to do. Cant beilev it could be rust

Or is it a defect that just appeared.

I know it was never there before.

Some people have had issues with that composite material holding water against the metal causing rust on that area of the front fenders.

I believe its some kind of anti vibration or sound deadening. Its weird some people have the issue and others don't it may have to do with how well the factory or attached it, if it has voids water will seep between the metal.

I have a dime sized spot on my hood that's bubbling. Where it meets the grill. Not noticeable. weird because I have it washed every week and the rest of it is immaculate. If it gets worse before I get rid of the truck I'll have the hood painted.

I have a '14 RAM that developed four bubbles in the paint above the HEMI emblem on the left front fender. It's rust from the inside out. My truck was 1 1/2 years old with only 15,000 mi on it and was oil bath rustproofed from day one. You need a new fender to fix, my rust bubbles were rusted all the way through. The sound deadner padding on the backside of the fender will not come off very easily, I tried, it is a very hard material that is bonded on very good. RAM warranty covered a new fender for me.

Intetsting. If its bonded so well. I wonder how moisture is getting in.
