I've noticed the factory headlights on my 2013 Laramie are yellow and not as bright as the hids on my other cars. Is there an upgrade for the factory hid bulbs in the projector lights?

Yes there is an upgrade, but just a FYI- your bulbs in your proctors are halogen not HID. Contact Jeremy at retroshop (retroshop.us). He can set you up with a drop in HID kit

I am not sure about the newer rams but my 2011 did not like the hid kit i put in. The drl didnt work but the low beams and head lights did work. Not sure if it was the kit or the truck but from the people ive talked to hids are not recommended in rams

I'm running 50w HID in my headlights and 45w HID in my fogs. Both retrofitted with bixenon projectors. All you need is a harness and your good. 13-14 is cheaper than 15/16 due to the less advanced canbus system.

The reason aboves it didn't work is bc he didn't get the mopar/ram specific harness with resistors and capacitors.

Thanks for that info. If I don't HID's, I'll just look for a better halogen bulb.
Any body know of a part number for an upgrade for the halogen bulb?

Problem is, every time I see a better low beam bulb, it states "not for projector headlights". I find nothing in a whiter, brighter halogen bulb for the factory projector headlight housing.

Honestly, you're not going to find a halogen bulb is going to give you the light output that you were wanting and that's you go for a much higher wattage bulb but then you'll deal with heat and possible wire harness issues.

A retrofit is the best way to go but our projectors to handle HIDs pretty decently.

This is with a 50 watt ballast3e236b64bb7a9b9161c669d8fe5ce9b7.jpgffc2f677e89633fd57f841878da7738c.jpg

Jeremy from retroshop sold me a nice plug and play kit for my 2014 with factory projectors. Very big difference and so far no issues!

There are no upgrades to the 9012 halogen bulb. Even if you find a sylvania or whatever it's not going to be enough. A 35w HID kit will provide 3x the light output per bulb. 50w will provide about 4/5x the lightoutput.

Go HID or LED. I wouldn't bother replacing them with other Halogens, you won't notice enough of a difference. You could also add a light bar. Those things are nuts!

Agree. On a side note, my buddy upgraded his head lights and people always flash him thinking he is driving with his brights. Just get a nice light bar. :)

I installed the 35 watt HID kit in my projectors and I am very happy with their products, and now much brighter the lights are now. And with the high/low shutter in the light housing, I did not have to readjust them. The pattern is the same as the stock bulbs on low beam. This photo shows the stock bulb on the right, and HID on the left with the low beams on in.
