When ordering I highly recommend go 55watt. I went 35 and it's a beautiful white but it's actually harder to drive with than the mediocre stock lighting. This is the 5k from retro shop. Really wish I had gone 55watt

Honestly I think it's just the color. I'm so used to the BRIGHT white of a 55 watt kit that this somewhat blue hue makes me strain a bit. I mean obviously a 4500k or yellowish is the most appealing performance wise but not aesthetically

A 6500K HID kit is a LOT better than a 4500.

My thinking is you need to change bulbs.

You can always change out the ballasts to 55W as well if you want.

6500 35W is WAY to blue for my liking. That's a hard pass

All a 55w ballast provides is 25-30% more intensity in the light output. I'm not sure what your reasoning is for wanting them? For a color difference? A 55w ballast will reduce the lifespan of your HID bulb. Also it washes out the color of the HID bulb (if that bulb is not specially made for 55w ballasts) such as make a 5500k bulb look closer to a 4500-5000k

6500 better than 4500? ********

I have 55w 4500k and it's awesome.

I'm calling BS as well. You start losing luminosity as you go up in color temperature. There is a reason why all factory HIDs are 4300k. I want to say that standard OEM Philips bulbs are like 3200lm and that drops all the way down to like 2400lm with the Ultinons(5800k). Personally I like things a little bit cooler, so I run CBIs. With those I get closer to the color I want without giving up much in output.

I don't know guys..my mom just got a new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and it's got stock HID'S. My 55w 6000K's are brighter than hers.

For me, I'd only ever go 6000k. I'm not opposed to 35w, but given the choice, the brighter the better. 55w all the way lol.

6k 55watt is washed out to the equivalent of a 4800-5k 35 watt it's just more output due to the higher wattage. Yes, if it were 55 watt I'd go 6k.

I went 35w to avoid adding another wiring harness. I should have just done it. What's an extra 10 minutes of work lol

Well, yeah. You're talking 55w vs 35w. Different projectors too. There's a lot more variables than just color temp there.

I would think it would be the same projector though right? Both 2016 FCA vehicles.

55w 6000k in projectors....predominantly white with a subtle bluish tint.

I to regret not doing a 55w ballast. My LED fogs are brighter than my headlights now. However I guess it good that I don't blind people as even with projectors the brightness can be too much

So I went back to the same road I took my original before photos. The darker asphalt makes the light much whiter an enjoyable. On a light colored road it's a slight green tinge

Yes and no. 55w only provides 20% increase over a 35w ballast and reduces bulb life by that said 20%. All ballasts are not created equal. High inefficiency numbers are what seperate the great from the bad. In truth I doubt any of the cheaper ballasts even put out the recommended voltage. Also you have the color difference between AC and DC ballasts.

You are right about the temp washout. But that's only for a certain temp range. Putting a 4500bulb with a 55w kit won't make it a 3500 color but prob closer to 4000/4200. But drop a 8k with 55w and it will look more like a 6k.
