Most emergency vehicles I've seen install the strobes directly under the low beam/high beam bulb. Gives the best reflection pattern and doesn't interfere with the pattern of the main headlight bulb.

What kind did you get?

I ordered the feniex cannons and since they are designed to be a bulb replacement thinking about replacing the high beam bulb with them

oh thatd be ideal. do they have a high beam function to stay a constant ON when not being used for strobing?

much better idea than drilling into the light and getting shavings inside.

Update***
I didn't replace the actual reverse bulb because I didn't want to drill out the 1/2" hole to 1" I mounted the hide aways below the reverse bulb there is noticeable flash in the front the lens lights up though at night not very bright the rear however are ignorantly bright
