My hood doesn't sit flush with the fender, and since I recently moved to South Texas (I don't remember what life is like without wind haha) I see it fluttering A LOT. Is there a way I can tighten it or do something to make it more stable, without going to a body shop? I mentioned earlier that my remote start stopped working (reason: hood ajar warning). Any help appreciated!

Check the points near the cab of the truck, where the hood connects to the hinges, see if they're loose.

Honestly, I reached up in there just now and can't get a good feel on if it is tight or not. Cant even judge the size of the bolt it's tucked away pretty good

Is it tucked up tight? If you open the hood it should be pretty visible on the left and right sides. I can't imagine it being hidden because you need to be able to get the hood off.

It's not completely hidden but I can't get enough on it to see if theres more tightening that can be done

Sure is. Just trying to avoid taking it there (since I have no idea how good these guys are).

what about the bumpers? there are little bumpers under the hood that you can raise to help that.

I raised those some but it didn't do anything to help the wind shear and hood movement

JJ wins for stopping the shimmy! But I still can't get remote start to work. Any more ideas?

Is it because it thinks the hood is open, or another reason?

Message on dash says "Remote start aborted- hood ajar." But it is definitely closed.

check to see if its plugged in. its right on the latch. easy to check. Jump the 2 wires on the plug and that will test the circuit that it works

I'll have to try that. I noticed that when I went on my road trip last week. I was afraid my hood would fly up on the highway
