So 2 days ago I ordered the sport style hood from Chrysler, I used to work at the dealership so the parts guys hook me up with cost +10%.. Anyways I don't have a problem with getting the hood painted, but I've been toying with the idea of getting it wrapped with black carbon fibre, thoughts?! I think it would look pretty sweet and definitely different!!

For some reason it's not letting me post a photo but I've got the deep water blue pearl!

That would be pretty cool. Not as cool as a real carbon hood, but pretty cool none-the-less.

Its your truck do what you want plus With the wrap if you dont like it you can just peel it off and then paint it. Personally i dont like carbon fiber warp it looks way to fake for me but hey thays just me. I would do maybe matte black hood with like matte blue scoops/the part of the hood thats raised.

For a few hundred more, you could get a real carbon fiber hood, painted nicely with the body lines.

IMO

Well since I'm from Canada and the way that the dollar is its a better route for me to go with the Chrysler one, I did consider it but I also don't want to pay shipping on a big ol package like that, but that's why I posted is to get some ideas I'm not 100% on the CF but that's what I thought would look the best, if j went with a Matte or satin black I just don't think it would pop enough with the pearl blue

the matte black hood thing always makes me think of the old 70's muscle cars with the matte black fiberglass hoods with hood pins. Ahh, the good old days. What about doing just the center hump in carbon and/or black and body color on the sides? just a thought, its fun to customize! whatever you decide, enjoy!

OK guys, lets not go crazy. It is our duty as fellow forum members to keep him from putting carbon fiber wrap on his truck. He cant just "do what he wants". He has the RAM image to uphold. Would you tell him to do what he wants if he was drunk and trying to drive home! HELL NO.

Just say no to rice.

When it comes to truck mods you have to think about WWLD:

Whole hood carbon NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!!

Now if you coated it or had it painted to simulated the Carbon fiber only on the raised cowl (top only) with the rest painted body color (what is your body color?) and a 2-tone pinstripe between the two would look good.

Got any pictures of your truck?

Hood is in already, going to pick it up later, probably make a last minute snap decision, maybe I'll do gloss black and then wrap the grill too who knows, I tried uploading pictures before it wouldn't let me

Honestly I think it will look extremely unfinished and clash where the hood meets the fender other than that I'd say go for it. Having the bodyline not match the color of the rest along that body line will look ridiculous.

I still suggest going with the painted to match with the hood decal on the raised portion around the challenger style vents will look good. even if you do that with a carbon fiber wrap and use a pinstrip with a grey and black. Just my .02.

Edit: only way I can see that layout working in your pick is if you still painted the body color where the hood meets the fender up to the body line where it starts the cowl shape, then leave it black to the sporthood cowling and do as you have shown.... but both of those will have a ugly line unless you have a good painter that can blend and sand that line down
