Trucks and vehicles that "stand out" to me are one's that have that "just detailed" look. Clean, waxed, wheels sparkle, wheel wells clean etc etc. I like the "subtle" mod's better than the ones that jump out at you. The ones that make you look and then say--"Oh ya, now I see it". It can be any make or model, it just says, "My owner takes really good care of me".

Chip Foose says he likes his mods to look like they would have been done by the factory if they could have. More of a fine tuning than a total redesign.

My mods are subtle but effective. I de-badged but added chrome strips under the window. The huge gaudy RAM 1500 on the doors is gone so you see the truck lines accented by chrome that follows the window lines. An accent stripe. Added chrome mirror covers, tailgate latch cover as well. Big Horn is a chrome edition, not a blacked out edition. Play to the chrome, but in a subtle undertone.

If the front windows are tinted, I suggest leaving the black pillar stickers. Then the windows look like one black hole instead of individual windows.

Don't care for step bars. Look clunky and over done. I went with AMP Research hidden steps. There when you need them but don't distract from the exterior. Keep thinking about adding a chrome stripe to the hidden steps to match the chrome window strips. Kinda of like an underline of chrome to the truck.

ArmorAll makes a product for all vinyl and plastic parts. Good for 100+ car washes they claim. All the black plastic pieces will bleach out. Hit all the black with this stuff. Instant black again. Water beads and sheds off. I put it on my 2014 in 2015. When I traded 2 years later, all the black looked new and shiny. Worth $10 and an hour of your time. I did all the black, even the metal window wipers, etc. It is also great for interior use. Apply once and never have to apply again to get the shiny wet look.

Whatever you choose, keep the tires and wheels spotlessly clean. Even if the rest of the vehicle is dirty, clean wheels make a vehicle look clean. Super clean vehicle just waxed but with dirty tires and wheels looks dirty.

I liked the chrome and black combo on my bighorn, and didnt want to completely black it out. However, like you, I wanted my truck to stand out from the crowd. Pics for reference

Standing out today is basically keeping a vehicle stock lol.

Im going to try and do my truck with an OEM look. I want people to think its a truck Mopar might have actually built from the factory. One reason I love AEV.

Everyone today seems to either hate chrome, or hate black out. I actually like both but it depends on the vehicle, how it is done, etc.

I am trying to get my truck to stand out too, i plan on going with smaller things to do so though.

Going to go with 17" fuel rims instead of the 20" that everyone else has, likely going to swap to black quad headlights, not too aggresive tires, swapping the rear bumper to dual cutouts with a borla s-type, lower the rear end 2".

I have a 2wd SXT though, dont see many of these with mods, so it will be easier to get it to stick out I think.

Here is dark ram with bronze. As someone else said don't modify the truck to please other people. I was told not to do bronze Wheels. I did it anyway, cuz I like it, same with no Chrome.

...

What IIIIII would do.....don't remove the dip....spray the metallic bronze right over one black dipped wheel to get an idea....

If you don't like it.....just spray black dip right back over the bronze.

But that's what I would do :naughty:

Good idea about spraying over the black. Plastidip recommends base coat white/black (depending on color) when doing colors anyways. I'm gonna pick up 1 can and try it out. If i like it i can do the rest. Now I just have to wait to get my truck back from service. I'm super pissed at my local Ram dealer. Their service department is trash.

Once of my co workers has a white Tacoma with bronze wheels and it looks sharp-
Deffinetly the color I would go with if I had a white truck.

I agree with what the other guy said. Ise the bronze dip to see. I think itll look good. But with a black base coat youll get more of the matte color like mine.
I also had a taco with bronze g35 wheels. Ill try to find a pic
