hey guys gonna get some flaps for the front/rear of my 2014 1500 CC as I am sick of the snow/slush etc this winter, plus I drive a fair amount of dirt roads.

From the looks of it most guys really like the husky liner ones for form AND function. My only concern was that you have to drill a hole and with all the salt they use here in michigan that it becomes a rusted out spot in short order.

Are my concerns baseless or is there something that I can do to seal the hole against the elements etc?

Any other flaps that I should look at? The only other ones that I have considered were the Weather Tech ones.

Thanks

I have the heavy duty ram ones.... didn't have to drill any holes and I am happy with them.

Actually just found an install video on youtube for 2014 1500's and there is NO drilling into the metal for these for the rear. You do have to screw into a clip through the plastic fender liner for an additional attachement point for the rear.

Looks like you do have to drill for the front.

I'm thinking maybe a dab of silicone before running the screw in?

I went with Weathertech 'no-drill' flaps. I like then, they are on for the winter mess but I can take them right off for summer if I want and put the black plastic stock pieces back on that run along the bottom of the fenders.

I just now put on a set of WeatherTechs. It took me less than 15 minutes. They fit very well and made from a nice quality plastic. They should help protect my lower panels on gravel roads and also help keep the truck clean.

I installed Husky molded flaps on my '12 (bought the used when a member traded in his '13) and my FILs '09 (ordered new from Amazon) and neither required drilling into anything but the plastic inner liner. The fender attachment points used factory screws that held the inner liner to the fenders.

I didn't even drill in to the plastic liner to install my Husky's and they attached and work fine. Just used the factory holes.
