How did you mount the mud flaps with the OEM sidesteps? I really want mudguards but the dealer told me they don't fitI like the Mopar side tubes on my trucks because they will give you something to step on when getting in, and they dress up the side of the truck, and look great. Here are my past three trucks with them.
There are several step option from factory. Mine are MOPAR 82211702AD Black Aluminum Running Boards, which are an option for crew short box Laramie. I installed them myself. They have three attachment points per side.
Lots of after market bars use two mounting brackets. The AMP using two mount points are rated for 600lbs.
