A 3" rear drop should give your truck a nose high stance for sure.
While a 17" wheel and larger sidewall will not appear as low as a larger rim / smaller tire combo, I assure you, if the OD is the same, it matters not!

I run 17s for my winter setup, the biggest difference between the 20s and the 17s is the 20s come with a 32.5" tire and the 17s come with a 31" tire, so the 20s fill the wheel well more. I'll post pics when I'm at work tomorrow since photobucket is blocked in camp.
