Okay so i have a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab Hemi SLT and i am wanting to convert it into a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport edition and that being the Grill, bumper and headlights. So i know about the headlights and what needs to be done but my next questions are does the grill fit that of the 2012 or is modifications need to be made to the grill itself or the body as well as the front and rear bumper? Please help! any pictures or advice is wanted! I want my truck to look like the one on the left and no i just can't buy one!

The grill has different edges on the bottom and is taller on the 13' so you would at the very least need a new bumper and grill and a 2013 sport hood. I know the 13's are nice looking but it seems like a lot of money to change something not many people will even notice. Imo the 13 doesnt look necessarily better than the 12 either, just different....

Agreed. If you really want a sport look. Get the 12' sport bumper and grille. Def not with the price for a lil bit of change:happy160:

 Figures a guy with a 2012 would say that :cocktail:

He is part right though, Most people can't tell unless they notice the driving lights. Retro can build you some very nice head lights and no one would ever look down at the driving lights so just shop for 2012 sport gear.

Yea, I'd spend that money on getting some sweet retro heads done. Getting your grill and bumpers painted. Would save a lot of cash.

So pretty much it will cost me more in getting the parts and will be easier to get it painted the way i want it too look? I thought about getting the sport grille and bumper from the 2012 Dodge ram sport but i know i can retro fit the lights. My overall goal is to make it look like a "stock" sport edition.

You could LineX the front bumper as an option, or even plasti dip as a cheap option and to see if you like the look. Google it they look pretty cool and are much stronger then the sport bumpers as far as nicks and stuff.

line x bumper

If you are going to do it the best bet would be to do the 2012 sport look. It still looks very good. I have had both a 2011 and now a 2013 and I cannot say one looks better than the other, just different as others have said.

The 2012 sport look will probably be cheaper to do and easier to find parts for. Do sone digging as you do have quite a few parts under the bumper that also have to be swapped. As for the headlights you can go with the newer ones or have JJ make up a set as stated. Either way it will look good. If you go with the newer style JJ makes a little harness for the swap to make them plug and play.

Whatever you do the most important thing is to enjoy it.

Certainly not a lot of support on this one! Well let me be the one to actually offer some evidence and support!

First off I say go for it! However you need to find the middle ground because as some have said to make the 12 entirely like a 13 that would be very costly.

Here is what I think you should go for.

Change out the following to the 12 sport:

Grill
Possibly hood but as mentioned expensive
Front and rear bumpers

I say keep with the 2012 bumpers because if you do try to match the front end of a 13 you need a new bumper, fog lights, brackets, grill, not sure about the hood, and a host of other things that we just don't know about yet.

Now change the following out with 13 parts!

Headlights
Tail lights
Badges
Wheels
Door Panels

This will give your Ram a unique look. Honestly this is what I have done to my Ram and I get compliments. I also get many people who think my Ram is a 2013 because they just don't notice the small details that make it a 09.

The cost to do this isn't that bad at all if you are patient. Search ebay hard and you will find a set of wheels easy as well as door panels. Headlights I will recommend JJ. I went through with a retrofit on those. Tail lights I would recommend Mopar Parts Online as they have instructions for a plug and play kit.

Finally enough of my rambling and here are some pictures of my 09, 13 look a like.
