Received my Moe’s Exhaust Tips yesterday and they are incredible! Love the sound, plus the fit and finish is better than any other tips on the market!

Does it change the tone of the stock exhaust? Waiting to see if they do a black friday deal on them!

Yes they do.
A slightly deeper rumble.
I like it a lot. (Have the oem sport muffler though.)
Only complaint I have is that the 5 Inch tips stick out the bumper a good Inch further than the stock ones.
My OCD had me remove both rear exhaust pipes and cut them an Inch where they feed into the muffler. Tips are now flush again. ;)

Mine don’t, they stick out exactly the same as the factory ones.

Since it’s some kind of a ball-shaped connection there’s no for and aft adjustment unfortunately.
So how are some flush and some 1" past?

IDK - maybe factory tolerances of the oem muffler?
My oem chrome tips definitely didn’t stuck out that much.
Maybe 1/2 Inch.
Anyway - my tips are flush now and I like it that way.
Half an our of labor well spent. :)

I have a Carven progressive series muffler. On my old truck, 2014 Ram 1500 Express, I had a 14” mufflex. The Carven is a lot louder. As far as the tips sticking out, mine are maybe 1/4” past the bumper, if that.

Really! Id hate to hear the competitor then hahaha..u think the 18" or 24" would be a solid sound without sounding like an 18 year old

It has to do with the muffler, either factory or aftermarket. I have the Mufflex DOD24M and it does not have notches cut in for the alignment pin and that adds about 3/4 inch in length....hence the stick out.

I pulled my Mufflex off and cut notches in it, which allowed the tips to sit a bit closer to the bumper.

It still sticks out maybe a quarter inch, but doesn’t bother me at all.

I had to cut the alignment pins off as well.
BTW - my 5 Inch tips looked pretty much like the ones in your first pic.
Unacceptable for me.

For the life of me I can't figure how you get a different tone by just changing the exhaust pipe tips. What am I missing here?

I have no explanation for that phenomena either.
The science behind sound waves is a mystery to me!

Because the sound echos in the larger area before it leaves the exhaust completely. Think of it has talking into a bull horn or a road cone.

I wish someone made a 4.5" bolt on tip about 12" long. Personally the 5" tip is too big, for me atleast. Heck I would even like to see a 4" tip(factory size) that is 12" long.
