Does any one know if the add on fog light kit from mopar be fitted with hids. Well it melt the housing. I'd rather add the kit then do a bumper swap. I want to match the head lights with the fog lights.

thats a pretty small light - what bulb do they take?

With a decent kit, it won't run as hot as a halogen bulb, but you gotta stay away from **** like DDM, etc

I've seen 35W HIDs put into a plastic 1x3 fog light without any melting issues.

You have to consider that if a 35W HID puts off more light, with the same energy input, that means by default it creates less heat. (Conservation of energy)

That's pretty theoretical, but still.

I've got 35W HID's (6,000K) in my stock foglight capsules and have no problems.

Maddog I'm talking about the little lights that dodge will add if you don't have the ones built into the bumper. These lights are like 1in by 3in. How big are the lights your talking about

Don't have HID's, but know thye are H10's as I was looking as silverstars, plus had to get h10 connectors, to wire in my remote.

Just a side bit, if you don't care about factory wiring, you can buy the mounts from mopar that allow you to mount there. and use Hella's FF75's they are the same basic housing, but a different bulb. Not sure what would be better for HID's.

I'm not going to use the factory wire. I'm going to have them on with the headlights. I'm planing to mount them in the tow hook area was

Did you get fog lites mounted on your truck I have been thinking of putting some on mine and am wondering how they would look on mine.

If you have can you post a pic of them on your truck.

Just my opinion. But I think you would be much better off putting an LED bar in there instead of worrying about HIDs for those. Prob wouldn't cost much more
