Anyone think these would look funny paired up with factory black quad headlights? I'm not a fan of the factory reflector fogs...

I would think so.

After retrofitting black quads, my fog lights stood out like a sore thumb.
I bought a set of black Spyder fog lights. They look awesome and blend in nicely with the black quads. Light output has suffered some, as they tinted the lens. I couldn't care less as I never use my fogs anyway.

I have the XML2 led bulbs in my fog lights. Very bright but the light is scattered. May look into these when released.

I put morimoto XB fog lights in my brothers 2015 GMC Denali and they look good. Output was much better than stock but still has nothing on my projector retrofitted logs.

About time they came out with these tho.

A proper built morimoto LED will output similar or better than an HID in most cases. Find someone who has a mori led and it will impress you.

lol... nope. My brother has the morimoto fogs on his Denali... they are brighter than stock... but not equal to a projector with HIDs. I will agree that they are a good bit brighter than the factory fogs. The LED fogs just dont have the optics to get a clean cutoff and thus less light at a distance as you can't aim them high enough without residual light blinding people.

Here is a comparison of the LED Dodge 09-12 horizontal fogs and the new 7.0 projectors with a 35w kit.

LEDs are close to 5k more than 6k. But you might see a smidge of blue in them... but I think morimoto designs them to be around a 5k HID bulb at 35w or a pure white.

Technically fogs shouldn't be higher than 4500k otherwise you defeat there purpose. 3800k is about perfect as yellow light penetrates fog better and is less stressful on your eyes. Same goes for rain. 3k is really yellow like golden. 3800 is halogen color and best for fog, 4200k is optimum for headlights for max lumens and easiness on the eyes in all conditions. Due to 4200 being the max for effectiveness that's why I rate the fogs the same as you can technically use them as additional lighting but loose a little fog penetration. Depending on your weather conditions heavy fog and rain might only be 10% of the time thus the use of 4200k is better.

Either way if you interested in additional usable extra lumens you shouldn't be putting 6k in anything.

Optimal would be 4200k at 35w headlights, 3800-4200k fogs at 35w. or 4500k headlights and fogs both at 45/50w. Or you can run fogs at 4200k at 50w to drop the temp closer to 3800k for better fog penetration.

Well color me wrong, although as stated this is still too hot for a fog. The 7.0 is an amazing looking amount of light. Im sure I will appreciate them in my headlights at the end of summer.

Color temp. Fresh blacktop and rain at night makes the higher temps less useful. 4000 or below is my goal for my bad weather lighting.
