I want mine mounted here just set back inside, more about where the exting plastic panel is that the light covers.. face of the light match the face of that..
I think it will make it look like it came that way and was a bolted on light
I don't like how the face of the light is in the same plane as the face of the bumper.

I think it's possible. It would be a tight squeeze to push it as far back as your wanting. Then you'd just have to stack some washers or rig something up when mounting the brackets to the bumper bolts to make sure it stays recessed in the bumper.

Guess I'll have to take the plunge and order up a 42" curved light, and fab up a bracket of sorts.

Just found this for those that like KIT from knightrider and have lighbars

Here's a couple of close ups. Mine is behind the bumper face a lil bit. I could definetley make it more recessed but then again mine is a 30". I don't know if there would be complications with the 40".

Yeah I wouldnt have minded it being back farther but with my bumper this was as far back as it would go.

If you have a stock height truck and mount a bar where your valance is that's nuts.

For $90 Im not really that worried. The worst part of the whole process was making the mounts for it, if something happened to the light in a year or two Id just throw another one on there being that everything is in place.

exactly. These LED light bars are sooo cheap now...who cares if one dies or you break it or whatever. Hell...buy an extra one as a back up! :word:

Here you can see the 1" rubber spacers I used to fill the gap. I had a gap due to using a 50" curved instead of straight LED bar on the roof. Still worked out great.

Did the bolts for the 50" fit flush with the mounts with it being curved? Or did you have to "maneuver" it to fit?

no they don't it flush...and it was a bit of a PITA to fit. Honestly, i'd go with the 50-52" straight bar if I were to do it again. Would make life a LOT easier!

looks great I'd like some info on your install if you don't mind
It was extremely easy. I removed my tow hooks, drilled two new holes in that area and used the supplied mounting brackets for the LED bar. I may fabricate some new brackets in the future to pull it farther back into the bumper's opening. As for wiring, it was supplied with a wiring harness. Just connect a ground wire, a power wire, mount the switch in the cab and plug the harness into the light bar. Drilling the two mounting holes was by far the hardest part of the installation.

Cutting out the bumper insert was the most tedious part during my install.

Everything else pretty straight forward.

Yeah man, the brackets were from ICI....about $32 shipped.

The pods were around $50 each pair. The amber ones are floods, the others are spot.

I put Lamin-X on them both to help protect the glass. They are still plenty bright.
