Hi my name is rob, im new to the site. I have been trying to find a set of rims and tires for my 09 ram sport. Im pretty dead set on getting the moto metal 961's in black. My plan was to just get the 20x9 +18 offset and put my stock tires on them. Then after i build some more cash get the bilstein 5100's and some big tires Nitto trail grapplers in 35x12.5x20. Will i be able to run this setup without any rubbing or any other issues? Or i have another option i can get the 20x10 -24 offset, and I have some new 305/50/20 sitting in my garage i could put on but i wasnt sure if they would fit without a leveling kit. If any one can get me on the right track that would be great!

Thanks, Rob

With a +18 offset I'm pretty sure you'd need wheel spacers to run a 35x12.50

Get the 20x10 -24 and you'll be future proof. It'll look fine now and will work for your 35x1250 down the road.

How much further will it stick out? Also will there be any rubbing with the 305/50/20's?

Supposedly the 305s won't rub with a +18...stock is +19.05, but if you look at the distance between the tire and control arm it's questionable. Discount offered to fit it for me but I just got a 20x9 +0 wheel instead. The -24 on a 20x10 is the same as a 20x9 -12. You're looking at a 30mm difference so 1.18" about. That's pretty extreme and as far as I'd go personally, but it'll look fine.

Ok I ordered the 20x10 -24. I have some extra cash as well, so I was thinking about gettin the bilsteins 5100's and putting some trail grappler 33x12.5x20 on. Will that work without any rubbing as well, also I was reading some people do 37's with just a leveling kit. Would the 33's look to small with the bilsteins? Or should I get the 37?

I was told no go on 37s with stock gears, could be wrong but this is what I've heard. going to go with 35x12.5/20s myself, leveling kit on, still looking for rims 0- -12 offset I like

37s will not fit with just a level, 35x12.5 is about the biggest you can fit and I'd say to go with those

Here's my 1500 with 20x9 +0 offset with a 35x1250 and just a level. It's now lifted 4" but it ran just fine with zero rubbing with a pro comp 2.5" leveling spacer.

35x12.5 will not rub with a -24 offset

with just a level the 35's will rub on the fender. some grinding is needed. Glocknram had this problem

Even with -24 offset? I wasn't aware of that, you may be right I was just under the impression that they must fit based on the number of people that run that setup

the -24 offset is the problem. The wheels stick out so far that they rub while turning. a 20x9 with zero offset would work though

Well dammit! So my option is find a new wheel? Or could I do the 20x9 +18 with a wheel spacer?

I don't think it would rub, but I don't have any personal experience with a -24. I don't see where it would rub on the fenders. I even remember another member posting his -44 just leveled with 37s but quietpeen would know better searching through some of his past posts...

A 20x9 +18 with a spacer would work just fine, but honestly I would stray away from it. It's double the hardware to worry about. You'll find people backing and bashing spacers...really equal opinions on both ends to sway you in the direction you want to go. I just sold the first set of wheels I bought (20x9 +18) to get EXACTLY what I interned to get which was an aggressive enough offset to set me up for 35s (or 37s) and a 4" lift.

So get EXACTLY what you plan to do with the truck the first time. If you have a budget for wheels, find a size that fits the tires you want. I bought a 20x10 -12 XD Monster and thankfully they took 5 weeks to come in. I changed to the Misfits because only 3 of the monsters came in after 5 weeks (WTF...I know) and it worked out perfectly because seeing the monsters in person was much different than online. So Misfits it was.

Keep googling and searching forums before buying. I ended up finding every setup I considered before deciding on what I have now.

Thanks for the info I think I'm just gunna go for the 20x10 -24 and throw the 305/50/20 on for now until I can get a 4" suspension lift.
