This is for my Ram Rebel wheels which are 17” . I’m looking for a great snow tire to pop onto these wheels so that I can put away my 20” ones. I appreciate any help as I went to the tire dealer and they wanted $1200.00 for BF Goodrich KO2 (?) Tires.

I ran Firestone Winterforce tires on my Challenger and they were great in the snow.

I will have to check and see if they make those in the size that I need.

I'm getting BFG KO2's LT265/70/17E for less than $910 M & B from Costco. There's a nationwide sale going on.

Blizzacks, if they make a size you will happy with. Remember tall and narrow for snow and ice.

Blizzacks are hands down the best snow tire readily available in the states.

Are you looking for a actual snow tire or an AT tire that is good in snow?

The goodyear Duratracs are very good in the snow.

We run KO2’s on one of our one ton vans at work and I must say I am very dissapointed with winter traction. We replaced bald Duratracs with the KO2’s and our other delivery van is still running Duratracs, we’ll replace them with Duratracs again.

On my personal vehicle I am running some Chinese Antares AT tires and they have been really decent to my surprise, they were $800CAD which is only about $650USD. I usually run a dedicated winter tire as i travel about 6,000kms a month for work and I want the peace of mind. I wanted something a little more meaty and these fit the bill perfectly.

I already own a set of AT tires, I’m looking for a dedicated snow tire if possible. Now I’ve heard the stock size on the Rebel wheels are 265/60/17, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. So far I’m seeing these as the go to tires. ea8b4f4d18857da68689ce9951a0e6a0.jpg

Nope so I’ll either need to drop down to 265/70 or go with a different brand of tire in that size. :(

I'd go with the Bridgestone tires or the other that I had that really worked great on snow and ice was the Michelin X-Ice.

I run studded Goodyear duratrac's. They are actually a winter tire as they they have the serve snow service rating. When you get into the big boy size you don't blizzaks or x-ice, etc, available. You get choices like commercial max traction and commercial on/off road.

I’m feeling that i will be going with the Blizzaks in size 265/70 as we don’t get extreme snow where I am. :)

I lived up in PA in the snow belt for 40 years. I ran Blizzaks on everything in the winter. Our regular cars, trucks, plow trucks, everything. They are an actual snow rated tire. You will not be disappointed .

I do suggest waiting as long as you can to put them on and swap them back out as soon as you can in the spring. They are a soft tire, and will wear fast. But if you only run them in the winter , you should get 3-4 seasons out of them depending on how much you drive.

My brother ran the nokian hakkapelita studded on his car and did pretty well in the winter for a new driver. My sister has the blizzaks and likes them. I've put a lot of km on hankook ipike on my 1500, which I always get studded and they're awesome. I usually get 3 winters out of them, which for me is about 60,000km before I change them and they still look decent when I do.

Of the tires i'm familiar with only Nokian has your stock size. They have a few different winter tires depending on load rating and studded or not.

MT's have kept me going every winter for 20 yrs here in North Jersey. Any good Mud Terrain tire is like a knobby dirt bike tire that just walks you right out of snow. Ice is ice. No tires have very much traction on ice. I drive in way more snow than ice. See pics. Running these all year on my 2500 CC 6.4 Hemi. Firestone Destination MT2's. They're 275/70x18. Still new, so not able to comment on wear. Had very good handling and wear with BF Goodrich Mud Terrains on last truck with 17" rims. ('09 1500 QC 5.7 Hemi). Thanks to all for sharing your thoughts and real world experiences with me. I’m going to get the Blizzaks as that’s what I run on my turbocharged Legacy. She cuts through snow like a hot knife through butter. As far as wear, I usually only keep tires for a year before I swap to other sets. Yes I know I’m crazy like that lol.
