I have the Westin platinum series. They are the 4 inch ovals and I love em. Wide enough to get your foot on there comfortably, and only a couple hundred bucks

I have the Mopar bars and love them. They're not very cheap though. They are sturdy and couldn't imagine a different set on my truck.

^ I have Go Rhino -- which look identical to the Lund bars. I like them. The mounts don't feel rock solid. I'd hate to put their 300# rating to the test. I'm under 200, and they seem to have some "give/play" when stepping on them. I wouldn't want to jump on them. The Mopar bars on my Jeep are rock solid, but the step pad is worthless (<3" wide"). The Go Rhino/Lund oval bars are poly, so they will never rust. The brackets of course are steel.

Got these 4 inch off ebay for like 170 bucks, very strong and easy to install. I like the looks of the 3 inch bars but the function of the 4 inch. I like having the larger platform to get into my truck. Black is even cheaper, but the cool thing is cheap does not mean junky in this case. These cheap nerfs are really good choices, mine are years old and still look brand new.

Did u get stainless or powdercoat?

I got the black powdercoated since my truck is black, and I love em, had em for a year and still holding up. Sturdy and haven't chipped even going off road frequently

Im looking for a set of Nerf Bars as well. I really would like to get a set like the Go-Rhino Dominator series (Tube wheel to wheel with the hoop steps), but i want one with a rough/bedliner type finish. I see this finish alot on bull bars and bumpers for jeeps and would like this finish for my nerf bars. Any ideas? I have been searching everywhere and everything seems to be stainless, or a black smooth powdercoat finish.

The 5" Raptors are rated up to 500lbs... most others are only 250-300lbs.

Might point to their longevity.

I had a set of Westin Powdercoat bars on my 1500 from 2007 to 2011 and they rusted very bad, they almost fell off the truck. Very disappointed. On the 3500 I have now I went with NASTA full stainless steel bars (Bolts, Bars, Brackets) and after being on there for 2 winters and 2 summers there isn't a spot of corrosion on them, and they are very strong. I'm very happy with them.

Thats a good point. Now i just have to choose a style I like.

Someone mentioned to me that some of these steps mount to the rockerpanel while others mount directly to the body mounts. I would assume that it would be much stronger to mount to to the frame/body mounts rather than the rocker panel but cannot find anything in product descriptions which tell you where different bars mount too. Can anyone shed any light on this? Do some steps use better/stronger mounting locations than others?

I was going to get these. I cheap'd out and got some more generic ones from Amazon (some generic 4" oval). I have no complains other than cheap hardware. They where $190 shipped. They assist in getting in the truck.

I do wish they were out lower/farther from the truck. Some people just don't seem to understand what steps are for, and still drag their lazy asses off my seats. *AHHH*
