Upgraded exterior lighting on my 2011 RAM 1500 Longhorn - Projectors / LEDs
I'm in the process of revamping the exterior lights on my 2011 Longhorn.
1. Eagle Eye Black Single Projector Headlights with H9 Halogen bulbs for now. If I don't like these then I'll go with black/smoked 2013 RAM OEM Projector Headlights.
2. Smoked Cherry Red LED Taillights.
3. Smoked LED 3rd Brake Light.
I get the headlights in a couple of days but the taillights all came in and I installed them this afternoon. I had put these same brand of taillights on my 2012 F150 in the same color and really liked them.
Stock/Stock/LED - Off:
LED/LED/LED - Off:
LED/LED/LED - Running/Tails On:
LED/LED/LED - Brake On:
Everything was plug and play. The taillights are plenty bright, but the 3rd brake light is a little weaker. The cargo LEDS are not very bright but I figured this going in. I'm going to get some clear silicone and apply it to the light before I wash the truck as I could see some signs of water intrusion with the stock light. I know this is a problem area for leaks and it was on my F150 as well. You'd think they could put a perimeter rubber seal on these lights that really did the job instead of some crappy foam tape.
Overall I like the look. I will post up pictures of the truck once the headlights are installed. I took a gamble and went with these eagle eye lights in black, while I was very close to buying chrome. I'll just have to see once I install one of the lights - I may make a change or I may install them. I'm thinking installing a painted grille in Sagebrush Pearl Coat and if I did then I think the black lights would look pretty sharp. We'll see.
