Well got the new Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/75-17's on, man do the ride well. The bigger tire gives the truck a much better appearance, even with my stock steel wheels. While I was at it I upgraded the look of the front end. Replasti dipped the grill and put on my customized ram shield. Also put in a set of spec-d euro headlights, definitely not a set of JJ's, but they will work for now. I will say the light pattern appears to be better with these than the stock headlights, not sure if was my adjustments or perception but it is better. I will say the lights had to be resealed, thanks for the advice on that JJ. Well here are the pics.

As you can see it really changed the look of the truck going from 245/70-17 to the 285/75-17's. In my opinion this is the perfect size tire for 2500's that are not lifted. So far no major decrease in fuel mileage, computer is still off, but that is getting taken care of this week.

That is the plan. But according to my Lowes store they are out and the last stock was pulled off the shelf for a recall. Thanks for the complements everyone.

A little update after running the tires for a while. Mileage seems to have been hurt by .75 mpgs. Noticeable improvement on ride, has a little more roll when making quick lane adjustments. Road noise increased ever so lightly over the stock BFG rugged trails. Noticeable power loss going from 30" tires to 34" tires. Overall impression great tire for the price. Hope to give an off road update, but not to keen on throwing a 8000lb truck into the Mississippi bottoms that are currently very muddy. Might need a winch added to do those trails. I will have to hook up with some of the forestry guys I work with and go down a few fire trails, at least then I know there is a bottom to the mud hole.

Well, had to do some running around for work, which required me to go into a large field with some muddy areas. Tires worked pretty good in the shallow mud holes. I now know I need some flares and larger mud flaps. The only think I didn't like is the tires don't clean out really quick. took about 1/2 mile at 45 mph to get the mud slung out. Could be better, but for an AT the do great. I didn't go with these tires to be off road in deep mud, so the work great for my application.

Much more aggressive. The small tires looked like they are having a hard time supporting that behemoth of a truck!

Yeah the 30" 245's are way to small for a 3/4 ton truck. I have expressed my concerns with Ram trucks about that, considering that they barely meet the weight standards of a E rated tire. 33" is the smallest that should be available for these trucks and even those look pretty small on there.
