I am going to need all the help and advice I can get when it comes to upgrading my headlights and fogs.

I want to get better lights and HIDs seem to be the way to go. I have no idea about Halos and Projectors or whatnot, all I know is I want to get rid of the yellow lights I have now. Hopefully the new ones will match the side view mirror lights that come on when you unlock the truck (if anybody knows what im talking about).

If anybody can help me out and just flat out tell me what to get that would be awesome. It seems like JJ is the forum expert on this topic but anyone who could offer help would be appreciated.

P.S.- I have no idea how to install/remove headlights or fogs lol

I was just like you when I did mine. Either YouTube it, learn from that. Like watch a lot of videos. Or go to JJ, if you don't want to burn the crap out of your hands go to JJ. He's awesome, nice dude and he does have the best price on the web. I looked. Twice.

:D

To3z - take a look at my site - retroshop.us, and my gallery - Retroshop.us - should stir up a LOT of ideas for ya! :D

The basics........

There are a lot of "projector" lights out there (eBay). None of them are designed for HIDs. They are all halogen projectors..........so, not the best! I only use HID projectors, and the BEST hid kits for our Rams. May not be the cheapest mod, but by far, the best. :D

Heck, even today I did a projector swap on a halogen projector'd setup on a GMC. Customer put a drop in kit in them first.....and couldn't stand it. JJ to the rescue!! :D

Mine are dual colored silver and mineral gray (slate, VERY close). Projectors, 55W Hids, all that jazz. :D

Here's some MG ones I've done to get your juices flowing:

I'll probably only go with just mineral grey because I think it would be too dark w/ black. Do I have to tint the turn signal myself or does it come like that? So 55/5000 should be good or should I go higher?

Not really, if you know how to take out your current ones, with ease.

No, the install is time consuming, but none of it is difficult.

The results in the end are well worth it. On that same note, having retrofit lights myself, I would pay JJ to do the next set.

Thanks! I guess it would be a lot more rewarding actually installing them myself.

Is retrofit the company or is it a style?....

retrofit is the "act" of putting a projector into a halogen headlight. :D

Install, not bad! remove the grill, pull the lights, run a wire harness and BAM. done. Takes about 2 hours

Sorry I've been away from my computer for a few days...but I'm Jim, those are my lights and I'm very happy with how they turned out. Install wasn't too bad either. Here are some more pics...If you have any ?'s let me know!

Its kinda few and far between that I run a coupon. I've always been on the mindset that if a coupon is out there.......well........it could be done for that price any day of the week. LOL (yes, I'm weird like that).

Tell ya what, create an account on the site - put together a set of lights, then add it to your cart. Shoot me an email after ([email protected]) and I can look at the cart and see what we can do. :birgits_tiredcoffee
