if you are 4 wheel drive you will definitely need 1/4" spacers, not sure for 2 wheel drive
I am fine with the ride height of the truck as mostly seeing the highway and street.
Ideally I am looking for a set of wheels which do not require spacers and I am planning on keeping stock rims and putting some winter tires for when I go to the cabin and skiing.

Unless you get a 285 tire which will have a real small sidewall you will need 1/4" spacers.
If you got 10mm hubcentric spacers it's nothing to worry about. I ran the cheap autozone 1/4" spacers and had no issues
I have 305/45/22 on repro SRTs and I rub the sway bar in reverse at full lock. No rubbing anywhere else. The tire does come close to the upper control arm but no rubbing. Yes my truck is a 4x4.
