Painted to match RAM tailgate letters?

The big bold "RAM" tailgate letters on the 16's looked gaudy to me at first but their growing on me.

I am wondering if anyone has seen someone put them on their tailgate painted to match? I'm wondering what it would look like. Anything to stand out. Lol

When they first came out people were dying to trade for regular tailgates some even shaved the namr and repainted the entire gate, you may be the first i have heard to colour match

Ive been saying it all along. They should be raised letters and color matched like the old trucks..

Id like to see the trucks redesigned to have attributes of the older models, kinda like ford did with the mustangs.

Try it with PlastiDip to see what you think. Then you can use real paint if you like it.

I know, I know... somebody is going to scold me for using that word.

I'd dig that. It's probably more to manufacture than they want to put in though. And it might look weird with the other plastic emblems on the bottom like the Rebel and stuff.

Yeah that's kind of the look/effect I was thinking it would have. Painted to match I don't think it'd look near as gaudy ad the black or chrome.

That logo is hideous, sorry OP. What was FCA thinking. They should have done something similar perhaps to the current Toyota tailgates.

The RAM on the tailgate reminds me of the 90's when manufacters thought it was a good idea to have it big on the tailgate. I didn't care for it then either.
I think it looks better color matched. Has anyone thought of color matching the letters and putting a black or chrome border on them?

I believe I read somewhere that they are mounted on with screws... could be wrong though.

I saw a brand new 2500 Limited yesterday and I really think the big RAM grill has grown on me. Still dont know about those big fat letters on the tail gate though. The problem is that they are just big plastic emblems and not actually part of the panel like on the old trucks.

Yes there are. Someone on the Ecodiesel forum pulled them off and found the holes

That's to bad. It would keep me from buying a truck with that on the tailgate. The grill isn't a deal breaker and much easier to change.
