I live in the Chicagoland area. What do you guys use if anything on your powder coated black rims to keep them from being damaged from the salt on the roads in the winter.

Id treat them just as you would a painted wheel, wash them, wax them as often as you can.

Powder coating if done right is more durable than your vehicle paint so wash wax like you do your car they will last a while.

Agreed. Having a clear coat on top of the color really helps too.

I powder coated the wheels on my Yamaha Raider. I rode the bike from Jan through July 2013, that's rain, sleet and snow (as long as there wasn't too much accumulation). They held up to the weather very well, only mistake I made was not drying them soon enough after a wash. Ended up with some water stains. Always dried them immediately after that.

I powdercoated the wheels on my SRT8 in 2009 and they still look fantastic.

They do have a 2mil thickness clearcoat on them.
