Went to the dealership to have a few items taken care of. While i was there i asked that the LED DRL's be activated using the LM5 sales code. Well after a LOOONNGG 6 hrs wait they said my truck as wall done and they pulle dit around. As they were driving it I noticed the LED were not on. Asked the service writer that the tech couldnt get the DRL's on?? She said yes they are on but there were no bulbs in the lights? For some reason i thought this was BS but didnt want to wait around for another few hours. They didnt charge me for the "work" but could some one confirm that they had their DRL's turned on and didnt have to add any bulbs to their lights.

My truck is a 2016 ram 1500 sport with projector lights.

Thanks

Did they just add the code? That will tell the truck that they're there, but they also need to turn them on in the "customer programmable features" section to make them actually work.

The dealer said they added the LM5 sales code but no lights on.

Where is this button to turn this feature on? This a dealer thing or a me thing? They told me that there were no bulbs to make it work which makes me think they have no clue what they are talking about.

The dealer needs to do it. They'll have to go in with their tool and turn the option on.

The "customer programmable options" area contains the options that are typically available from the settings menu on your radio (auto high beams, lights on with wipers, etc), but for some reason they decided to hide the DRL option from users on the RAM (it's there in other Chrysler models). So, dealer only, I'm afraid.

I had this done on my 2017 at delivery. The dealer has to go in and check the code to activate, THEN the tech has to hook up the scan tool and reload the factory configuration, which will see LM% enabled and turn it on.

As far as bulbs being there, LM5 is just for the models with projector headlamps and LED amber turn signals beneath. There are other codes for other models.

Lol. The dealer told you there were no bulbs in the DRLs? They do understand your turn signals ARE your DRLs right?? So do your turn signals flash like they should? If so, yes, all the LED bulbs are there lol. Some dealers are really dumb..it can be activated. I had the code added to my 2017 sport and they work great.

There are 2 steps to enable your DRL's. First they have to reconfigure your build per your VIN. Then they have to flash the LM5 code (specific to highline projectors) to your BCM. If you have projector headlamps w/amber LED's for turn/park lights, your turn/park will be your DRL's. I think your dealer is clueless.
