I bought a new truck that was already customized by the dealer. It has a 4" lift and larger tires. The speedometer is off around 4 mph when it says I am going 60 mph (My GPS actual shows that I am going 64 MPH).

Do I have to buy a programmer (and I have not found any for the 2012), or can it be done by the dealer. I have not had a chance to talk to the service department, only the salesman (who was unsure).

Thanks

Im about ready to buy larger tires my self. Am I reading this correct that they can only recalibrate up to a 33" tire or can they re calibrate to 35"?

OP there are no tuners available for 2011 and 2012 rams. They have not been able to crack the encryption. If the dealer can only reprogram up to 33" tire you are in a spot that not much can be done.

I am not a tire expert. How can I tell the exact size of the tires. I measure my tire with a tape measure and it is 33 to where the tread starts and almost 34 inches to the end of the tread. The tires say they are 325/65/18.

Maybe I will need to check with the dealer about the possibility of reprogramming.

What do you guys think?

Error - Hypertech

I found this on Hypertech's web site. Its a speedometer calibrator for a 2011 Ram.

Here is the generic link since the above is an error page: --CLICK ME--
You have to plug in your model year and make etc. at the top, they link the same item to 2012 Rams it appears.
