Well i was tired of cleaning my all black truck and having this huge greyed out hunk of plastic at bottom of antenna.

Oem p/n: 5064395AF
(In case link goes bad)
So I ordered an Oem replacement for $8.54
Couldn't be happier with 5 min install.
Link to one I used:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00T...AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ram+antenna+base

I used 2 pair of needle nose to release the chrome top nut as shown:
(I put a shop rag over them so as not scratch chrome plating off but removed for pic)

LEAVE ANTENNA ATTACHED TO HOLD ONTO OR BASE WILL FALL DOWN IN YOUR FENDER!!

Slide ring nut and old plastic greyed base up and off slide new one on, screw nut back on, and your done. Looks much much better, could have refinished but for less than $9 and 5 mins, why
Before on left new one attached

Here is pic while it was off, you can compare that to size of base by seeing the dirt ring, I would say 1/2"+ with a couple small notches top and bottom

I bet if you had sanded and shot the new one with a coat of gloss black spray you wouldn't have to replace it again in a few years. Definitely looks better though.

I agree, I'm just thinking <$2 in spray paint and you won't have to do it every 3 yrs. that and you can call it "custom". [emoji6]

I think Mequires makes a product "back to black" and it restores all the faded black parts back to black

That's a great write-up for those of us (like me) who would have unscrewed the antenna & then lost the base inside of the fender.

I've bookmarked this for future reference when mine fades.

I have tried the 3m version of this a couple years ago on some trim on wife's car, and while it worked well it slowly faded back to grey. Would say it lasted about 5 mos before needing reapplied held up longer on some parts but not much
