This is why OPT7 LEDs are a popular choice for quad housings. Not as bright as HIDs but 3x brighter than stock halogens easily.

I saw another thread about them with a few pictures of a fence 35 feet away, the OP said he'd take a picture with more depth later...I will check it out and see what it looks like. I'm just not a fan of LED's, don't know why...but the convenience of doing the swap is definitely there. I guess I'll keep my eyes out when I'm driving and ask other Ram owners around here what they have. If I happen to see some nice LED's maybe I'll end up doing it. I do still really appreciate your advice though!

It's not THE best, but it is a great option. Probably the best for you and other drivers if you are sticking with quads.

Here's is what I recommend:

2013-14 Dodge Ram HIDs

You'll want the 6000K kit for Quad headlamp. You'll also want the 9005 one for your high beam.

Canbus adaptor is a must (already selected on there). It literally makes install a plus and play.

With a canbus adaptor you only need to do this: HID bulb -->Ballast Ballast -->Canbus Adaptor Canbus Adaptor --> OEM truck plug. Simple right?

Taking the lights out is easy. Just take the 4 screws off the top of the grille, remove it. Take the 2 screws off the headlamp. (10mm socket) There's a flap inside the wheel well. Open it and look up. There will be a tab that you push up, push it up. That unlocks the headlamp. Then the headlamp with pull right out. I'm not sure if you have a screwed in back panel on the quad headlamps, if so you'll need to unscrew those (8mm socket) and then you have access to the light bulbs.

I recommend HID because they really do make a HUGE difference. The OEM lights just plain suck..If you don't think they're bad, just wait until you put HID's in. It's like turning night into day...seriously.

Don't just replace the stocks with Halogen bulbs, it isn't much more expensive to go with HID. LED's are good, but they aren't quite as bright as HID yet, also if you live where it's cold the LED doen't get hot enough to melt ice off the headlamp quickly.

Do you know if this will work on the 2015's?

Anything that JJ (RetroShop) sells you will work on the 15s with the right harness.

What are the differences (other than price)?

IMO

Looks like top one is made for plug and play to take place of stocks while others are just bulbs? I don't see the ballast or capacitors in the other boxes pictures. Then again I'm as lost as you in all this haha

They're led.. So the bulb is there, and they don't require a ballast.. The only thing I see that is different is that the red one has a built in fan.... How necessary is that fan to up the price $60?

You'd have to look at the light output. I'd be willing to bet the other 2 aren't near as bright as the red one. There's a reason the red one has a fan and a heat sink

the fogs have less output than the stock fog bulbs. They do compliment the flux headlight bulbs as far as color go.

The middle ones looks the best because of the projector lens on the end. I had some with fans and other with cooling braids. They can't run any hotter than HIDs and they are not cooled. So the fan is not a big deal.

These were bright as H**L
I would have kept them, but I went with HIDs. No flicker or problems with a canbus adapter. ef78bec341a6f9e5e22347bd67af728e.jpg

That's how everything lists on Amazon.com. Retail and then discounted. They were worth the 77 for sure.
