Rocker panel access holes

looking for ideas on what other members have used to to cover up the holes on backside of rockers where factory step rails are mounted. On my 2017 the factory tape is already starting to com off

I used Versatape black waterproof tape used for koi pond repair. They sell it at Home Depot.

I used Gorilla tape to cover the holes. Then Dupli-Color Truck Bed coating on the back side of my rockers and fender wells. I also used butyl tape to seal up the fender liner screws.

anyone ever flush out the rocker panels with water?

I used black gorilla tape and have filled mine with fluid film.
