Scratched Door Glass (exterior)

My prior truck was a Ford F-250 ... no matter how well I kept the belt moldings clean, the thing was notorious for scratching the heck out of the door glass when the windows went down.

With the Ram, I was sure I'd never have this aggravation again ... until I rolled down my passenger window the other day & heard a "scrreetcchh". Looked, sure enough, nice deep vertical scratch down the outside of the door glass.

My warranty expires in September; is it worth taking it in for this?

yup, had 2 trucks recently that were replaced under warranty

Had my day at the dealer today ... getting the run around as I suspected I would.

Tech says there was sand in the belt molding & it caused the scratches on the exterior of the glass. I'm thinking, "well no kidding". Anyway .. says they "cleaned the belt molding", but don't think it will be warrantable because it was sand and I have tint on the windows.

~Sigh.

I had tint on mine and they warrantied both driver and passenger and even changed both belt mouldings as they were the issue causing the scratches in the first place

If the dealer will not pay do it yourself. The glass is only $100.00 per side which is cheap and can be changed in about 20 minutes

What I'm thinking ... might try another dealer before warranty ends; if not, I'll likely go this route.
