Tax money is right around the corner and I have to make a decision on steprails! I am just looking for the snuggest fitting (to the truck) step rails out there! I have no plans on lifting my truck so I would like to keep the max amount of ground clearance possible. What is everyones opinions?

Yeah I have seen some that hang down away from the truck and that's what I am afraid of if I order some on line. Now I had no idea what "rock sliders" were until I looked them up a min ago............and I like them! Where in the world would I order some of those? I looked and didn't have much luck.

As ppl told me you need room to put your foot on step. If too close it defeats purpose

If you just want them to get in and out not for looks you could get a set that mounts underneath and folds in and out when you open ur door, they are sweet but kinda $$. Other than that most of them stick out decent so u can step on em.

set of OEMs are pretty tight to the body and don't hang low

I'm a fan of the OEM ones as well.

I've always like the Westin Ovals [had them on three previous full-size pickups] and did think about changin them shortly after purchasing the truck, but the OEM rails sit and look great and have grown on me.

Power boards...offer the most ground clearance and they fold down enough to be a useable step and not just be in the way.

Best Top makes them and has a 3 yr warranty and AMP makes them with a 5 yr warranty.

I like the look of the OEM ones that are on my truck but am constantly stepping half in the truck and half on the running board. It's a bit annoying. The only reason they are on my truck is my wife likes to use them. If the even were out away from the body 2" inches more they would be perfect.
