Hello
I changed from stock 33 inch tires to 35 x12.5x 20.
Will a 35 inch tire fit into the spare tire area under the bed?
The tire Store said it might but will get melted from the exhaust.
I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't locate it.
Thanks

I've read that it will but I'm sure someone with more solid experience will chime in.

I was thinking the same. Might just ditch the tire and stay light[emoji1360]

I'm not sure about it fitting, but I always keep plugs and a compressor under my seat. I hate changing flats. Rather plug them and get off the road. (This is of course when you can use a plug).

It is 1 inch closer to the pipes. Measure and see how much room you have left. But really it is a spare. No need to do a 35" there. If you have a blow out on the rear just move the spare to the front and take the front and put it on the back. It will get you to the tire shop just fine. Unless of course you are doing the extreme and rotating the tires in and out of the spare.

Yeap its a spare it doesn't matter if its the exact size its meant to be temporary and wont hurt to drive on a shorter tire for awhile.
cars have had space saver tires for years.

You might have a problem if you ever had to put it in 4 wheel drive with different size tires.

Unless you are on pavement it wont matter either. There would be enough "slip" not to cause an issue. If you happen have a vehicle with all wheel drive you wouldn't be able to do it. But none of us do. Atleast I dont think any Rams have that. Just the auto 4wheel which is different.

I use AAA as my spare tire.... Only vehicles I have spares on are the offroad wheelers....

Depending on the look and your design style likes, you could always get a swing away tire tailgate if you still wanted a spare and give it that off road look....

A 35x12.5x20 wont fit under my truck. It hits the hitch and panhard bar. I just throw it in the bed if I go in the dirt. If not I have my stock spare and AAA

Another issue is with having larger tires your stock jock wont work. I have my stock spare to use as a jack lift.
