?... but the old nerf bar type step just looks so outdated to me

This is what I should've added to my comment.

I'm not against step sides in general, just the chrome(tube)style. I've had these same steps on a previous vehicle I purchased in the past.

Take em off!

my dad has those and i just ordered the amp fold up steps for him, he likes the step idea but hates the look, imo if you want steps the fold up ones are the way to go, but the old nerf bar type step just looks so outdated to me

Are you referring to the power amp steps ?

I paid around $2000 for my amp steps, and then $200 to have them installed.

Mind you I'm in Canada, so.i had to pay around 36% more than you'd pay in the US.

I absolutely love them. Worth the money for sure! They go down further than factory steps, and come out further. They're probably 2.5 or 3" wider too. Makes it super easy to get in and out!

To " step " or not lol

I also see that the one that I've listed is advertised for lifted trucks. Since I will not be lifting mine, there must be another model reflecting otherwise.

No, it will stay at its current height which is Bilstein set at 2.1 and Toyo tires in size 275/60/20. :)

There are a couple different models of the power steps. The ones shown above are the XL model. They are 3" lower, have rails that sit under the rockers, and plug into the OBDII port. The regular ones, which most people buy, are available in either OBDII or hardwire versions.

It's hard to find much of a discount because AMP is militant when it comes to minimum pricing. I couldn't bring myself to shell out the cash so I kept waiting and watching. I imagine somebody got in some serious trouble, but I finally ended up scoring a set on eBay for $715 shipped. They were brand new and drop shipped right from a major distributor. If you're trying to get a major discount, I'd keep an eye out on eBay for sure.

That's exactly what I am going to do as I can not mentally justify dropping $1400.00 on steps on this truck. It's the same way when I wanted a Sport hood, and they wanted $1500.00 unpainted for it.
