Changing these was the first thing I had to do on my 1500. Almost half of the factory ones were shot :( Replacement nut had cost me about $1/pc

I've got these saved on my watchlist, just waiting to decide if I'm going to change rims or not.

OK, I did not read every word in this thread, but am wanting to replace my stock lug nuts on the '14. I think I like the McGard ones, but am concerned on getting the ones that are not "bulge cone." I believe my stock lug nuts are this bulge variety. Are the regular cone ones OK to use on my stock wheels?

Thank you.

Yea, I guess I should have explained a bit more... I was looking at the splined lug nuts, I don't think they make them in the bulge style.

Either McGard or Gorilla will be way better quality than the stock stainless sleaved garbage lugs.

Are the lugnuts on Rebels the same as any other 4 generation?

I'm going to assume the answer to that is yes since they share the same hubs. But I would definitely look into that further before you buy anything.

After seeing this video, I realized I have the same type of lugs on my truck. So before I had to deal with getting a rounded lug off without destroying my wheel, I decided to get some Gorilla Nuts. The stock lugs have a thin metal sleeve that covers a relatively soft steel nut which rounds off way too easily.

The part number for my truck and I believe all 2013+ trucks with 20" wheels is GOR-66148DX. The specs of these are M14 x 1.50RH. These are actually cheaper than the replacement Mopar lugs.

The metal covered factory lugs have been used for over 20 years and we all pretty much hate them. Long ago I'd even glue them back when they came off. Then I went to aftermarket lug, various brands, which usually meant I had to go also buy a new lug wrench which I would do anyway. Have a 2017 that I am sure I'll end up doing the same thing. But consider FORD has lug nuts they been using for about 16 years that freeze themselves to the lug and have to be cut off. So which would you rather deal with nut coverings that come off or frozen lug you have to have cut off? Hummm

When loosening or tightening the lugs with the sleeves, be sure to use a six point socket. The six point socket grabs the flat sides of the lug nut, not just the corners and helps to prevent rounding the lug nut.
